The Equality Award of the Swedish Industry Council is awarded to companies that have made important efforts in the field.

Fredrik Emilson, CEO of Höganäs sees the award as a confirmation that the company is on the right track.

“We are convinced that equality between men and women is important for Höganäs. It effects our performance and it widens our opportunities. Diversification simply provides a better workplace. Therefore, we continuously adapt the physical work environment and strive for the employees to have a good work-life balance. This award inspires us to continue and to step up our efforts even more.”

In a traditionally male dominated business, Höganäs has set concrete goals for increasing gender equality. Today, 16 percent of employees are women, and the goal is to exceed least 25 percent by 2021.

The motivation of the jury:

“The Gender equality award 2019 goes to a company that makes a true effort for increased equality. The company works strategically and broadly to increase equality within its own company, but also in the industry as a whole. The company works with concrete activities and towards measurable goals. The company is for instance reviewing recruitment processes, making women visible throughout the company and facilitating a good work-life balance for employees. The winner of the Industry Equality Award 2019 is Höganäs. "
