Lindéngruppen is pleased to welcome Charlotte Strömberg as a new board member. Strömberg brings a great deal of experience and is currently Chair of Castellum AB, board member of Clas Ohlson AB, Kinnevik AB and Sofina S.A., as well as member of the Swedish Securities Council, co-founder of DHS Ventures and an angel investor.
She has previously been a board member of Boomerang, Fourth AP pension fund, Intrum Justitia, the Karolinska Institute, Skanska and Ratos. Her other former positions include CEO for the Nordic section of Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated, and financial analyst at Swedbank Robur and Alfred Berg.
Strömberg was awarded Sweden’s ‘Chair of the Year Sustainability 2018’ for her role as Chair of Castellum. She received the award for successfully combining economic, social and environmental sustainability and refining these values throughout all business processes at Castellum.
“I was attracted to Lindéngruppen by its unique blend of being based on traditional well-run industrial companies with a strong heritage, while taking leadership in transforming and innovating sectors, products and service offerings,” says Strömberg. “To be proud of our past, while supporting and challenging our companies to embrace change management, particularly in these uncertain times, with the longer-term impact of the pandemic on-demand patterns and customer behaviour, will create opportunities as well as the need to manage new risks.”
Strömberg says she also values Lindéngruppen’s purpose-driven culture, with high expectations on both social and environmental sustainability from employees, customers and other stakeholders, together with its long-term investment horizon.
“I take a portfolio view on my board assignments and look for positions where I can provide insight,” says Strömberg. “This enables me to contribute while at the same time creating opportunities for me to further develop my own knowledge.”
“We are delighted to welcome Charlotte to the Lindéngruppen Board. Her broad experience will benefit our Group as a whole,” says Jenny Lindén Urnes, Owner and Chair of Lindéngruppen. “With her true passion for building businesses in a variety of sectors and track record of driving sustainability to create long-term value, Charlotte will be a great addition to the board.”
The assignment also has a sense of homecoming for Strömberg. “As a young professional, I led the IPO of Höganäs and worked together with the founder of Lindéngruppen, Ulf G Lindén, which gave me an insight into the Group’s cornerstones that still exist today,” explains Strömberg. “Also, I was born in Gröndal in Stockholm, the cradle of Beckers and Färgfabriken, and grew up in Skåne not far from Höganäs.”
